Cutting a chicken take me about 15 seconds, but I might add I have cut-up thousands of them. It may take more than one try to get the hang of it, however, once you've got it down, you can cut up a chicken like a pro, with hardly any effort! Perhaps the most important reason to learn how to cut up a whole chicken is that it will save you money. By buying a whole chicken you can get it cheaper than buying pieces, plus its good to know, as the same method can be used for cutting up other fowl like duck and turkey. The leftover parts are great for soup stocks. |

2. Bend thigh back with you finger to expose the joint, as you bend it the bone will pop from the socket. . |

3 Cut through the joint, separating the leg from the body. Repeat this procedure on the other leg.

4. Now you can just cut between the thigh and drumstick joint, by cutting the knee joint apart. |

| The wings are very easy to do, just pull away the wing from the body. Bending the wing back exposing the joint. | ![]() |
| Cut through the joint. Repeat this on the other wing. | ![]() |
| Now comes the tricky part. Hold the breast up right as shown. | ![]() |
| Cut from the neck down to separate the breast from the back Please be careful as the chicken can slip. | ![]() |
| continue cutting down along the breast and back ribs under its separated. | ![]() |
| Repeat this on the other side. | ![]() |
| You can divide the breast in half, lengthwise by cutting the cartilage a little on the inner breast bone. | ![]() |
| Once this is cut, grasp the breast at each side and bend breast open as shown. This should snap the wishbone and open the breastbone up. | ![]() |
| Bend again and the breast bone will be easy grab it with your fingers, pulling it our. | ![]() |
| Now cut thru the breast meat. | ![]() |
